The main credit for this goes to the characters who pretty much save the entire show from slacking like many others in the genre and make it really enjoyable from the beginning to the end. Overall, ‘Oreshura’ may not be one of the best anime shows out there but it somehow manages to keep its head above water by not falling flat even once. The opening and ending themes are pretty good and play a major role in setting up a cheerful mood for the show. Even the sound fails to play the part that it is supposed to in a romance setup and that’s probably the reason why the ending of the show isn’t all that impactful. If you’re somehow able to adapt to that, then you might enjoy the visuals as well, but for most fans, this was more of a disappointment. There is an underlying light-colored theme to the art that takes some time getting used to. But considering the previous works of A-1 Studios, it looks like they did drop the ball here with this one. The art and animation of the anime are not all that bad, despite its portrayal of the characters in the most cliched way. They are simple, sweet, hilarious and subtly grow stronger as the show progresses
The one thing that the show thrives on is the relationships it creates between the characters. Though most of them are based on your typical harem archetypes, it’s good to see how funny and nice they are to each other. But surprisingly, the characters are very likable, especially the main protagonist. He has medium length jet black hair and big grey eyes.Being the generic harem that it is, you wouldn’t really expect much out of the characters of the show. When it comes to his appearance, he looks pretty normal for his age and is usually seen in his school uniform. His dreams of dating are further crushed when he realizes that the only girl in school who likes him is Sumireko Sanshokuin. All of his hopes are shattered when his crush from his school invites him to meet her alone but only ends up expressing how much she admires his best friend. Amatsuyu KisaragiĪmatsuyu Kisaragi is the main protagonist of the anime who really wishes he had a girlfriend. She sports black square-framed glasses and has jet black hair that is often tied up with two long braids. All of this just makes him hate her even more. Despite having a crush on Amatsuyu, she never really expresses her feeling to him and instead makes fun of him all the time. Because of how nerdy she looks, she isn’t really considered to be all that attractive but for the most part of the series, it seems like she does not even care about that. Sumireko is a gloomy studios girl who later starts liking Amatsuyu. Amatsuyu eventually starts hating her because of how she keeps teasing him but at the end of the day, she is the only girl who truly likes him. Unfortunately, she isn’t all that great looking and sports thick-framed glasses with long braids. As he tries to fight his endless battle of loneliness, a girl from his school starts showing interest in him. But to his disappointment, she seems to have a crush on his friend and only wants to seek his help. After being invited by his childhood friend Himawari who is the cool beauty upperclassman Cosmos, Kisaragi Amatsuyu starts hoping that he might finally be able to date a nice girl.
‘Ore wo Suki nano wa Omae dake ka yo’ is pretty much the opposite of a Harem where the protagonist actually struggles to get the attention of the girls of his class. The characters in the original story go through a lot of development but in the anime’s case, that has been tweaked a little.
